■Yui Tonegawa ( Instructor introduction )

Graduated from Joshibi University of Art and Design, Junior College Department of Painting Graduated from Joshibi University of Art and Design, Department of Western Painting

What made you decide to work at artwine.tokyo?

After studying oil painting at an art university, I worked in design at an IT company for a long time. I'm glad that I was able to draw as a job, but ``design'' is about creating things that are easy for everyone to use, and it's similar to ``art,'' which is about creating ``what you want to express.'' It's completely different.

When I was wondering if I could do something more like "art" using the paints and brushes I was familiar with, I learned about artwine.tokyo when it was founded, and decided to join as its first instructor. Now, as a full-time employee, in addition to teaching, I also work in a responsible position such as store management and member management.

When do you feel fulfilled at work?

First and foremost, I feel most fulfilled when I can directly make customers happy. A nervous customer came to the store, but by the time he finished his painting, he said, ``I thought I would never be able to draw something like this, but thanks to Mr. Tonegawa's guidance, I was able to draw something really good.'' I would be very happy if I could hear things like "I had an experience that can only be found here. I will invite my friends and come again." This is something I didn't get in my previous design work.

Some of our repeat customers report that they have discovered the joy of painting and have purchased art supplies on their own, saying, ``Actually, I'm thinking of starting a little bit myself.'' Painting is not something that only a handful of geniuses can do; it should be something that anyone can start doing as they wish. I am truly blessed to be able to be a part of this opportunity as a lecturer.

What kind of people would you like to work with?

I think a positive person who likes drawing and serving customers will definitely be suitable. artwine.tokyo values ``customer experiences that exceed customers' expectations,'' so the role of instructors who guide customers who are beginners in painting is very important. On the other hand, you can improve your painting skills through training on painting themes after joining the company, so you don't necessarily have to be an art university graduate as long as you are not good at drawing.

Would you like to join us in this unique and wonderful job of ``drawing art together with an instructor while enjoying wine paired with a painting?'' We will wait for the application of everybody.

■Chihiro Yamamoto/Chihiro Yamamoto ( instructor introduction )

Graduated from Joshibi University of Art and Design High School

What made you decide to work at artwine.tokyo?

After returning from France where I had been living due to the coronavirus pandemic, I worked on website and package design while working as an artist. Although my job was stable, I was wondering if I could find a job where I could make better use of my skills, when I learned about artwine.tokyo from a friend who happened to be participating as a customer. Having taught art to children in France, I intuitively thought that this would be the perfect job for me as I love teaching and making people happy, and I also love wine, so I sent a message and joined the group. became.

When do you feel fulfilled at work?

Many of the instructors at artwine.tokyo, including myself, work as instructors while also juggling our own production activities, and being in an environment where there are other artists nearby is a great source of stimulation. As an artist, I find it stimulating to have the opportunity to exchange ideas about different ways of thinking about my work, and to exchange information about trends in painters and the industry. Similarly, I believe that the perspective of ``creating pictures from the customer's perspective,'' which I gained by observing the reactions of clients in my regular workshops, is applied to my own paintings.

Also, I had a high degree of freedom to come up with my own ideas, something I didn't have in my previous jobs. I would be happy if I received a lot of reservations for paintings that I came up with, designed the experience for, and served as an instructor.

What kind of people would you like to work with?

In Japan, there are many painting classes for children, but for adults, there is a strong image of serious painting classes, and there are not many places like artwine.tokyo that teach painting to adults in a casual and relaxed atmosphere. By providing support and reassuring customers, I hope to be able to enjoy introducing art that is often considered to be difficult to enter. If you are a person who enjoys making people happy, we are sure that you are suitable for this position, so please apply.
